Single storey rear extension to a 1930s semi-detached property.

The Brief: The clients wanted to get rid of an existing leaky and poorly insulated flat-roof extension and turn it into usable family space all year round.
​
The solution: The new design squares off the width of the house and provides a large kitchen and dining room, family room and a much needed downstairs wc/shower-room located where the original kitchen was stiuated.
​
The new design future proofs the house, allowing for two family spaces one closed off, and another open plan for that modern open-plan feel. We have provided a much needed downstairs wc/shower-room and have stopped the morning 'loo queue' bringing this 1930s semi into the 21st century ready for a modern-day family.
​
At a later date, should the clients like, a double story extension can be undertaken to provided a generous fourth bedroom/master with ensuite above.
